Cell culture

Cell culture consumables refer to the various materials and supplies used in the process of growing cells in a laboratory setting. These consumables include:

Cell culture dishes or plates: These are specially designed containers that hold the cells and provide them with a growth surface. They are typically made of plastic and come in various sizes and shapes.

Cell culture flasks: These are similar to cell culture dishes, but have a larger surface area for growing more cells. They are typically made of plastic and have a flat bottom and a vented cap.

Cell culture media: This is the liquid solution that provides cells with the necessary nutrients, hormones, and other factors for growth and survival. Cell culture media typically contains a mixture of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other components.

Cell culture supplements: These are added to the cell culture media to provide cells with specific growth factors, hormones, or other components that are not present in the standard media.

Cell culture reagents: These are chemical compounds and enzymes used to manipulate and analyze cells, such as trypsin, collagenase, or growth factor.

Cell culture sera: These are animal-derived protein supplements added to the cell culture media to support cell growth, it typically comes from fetal bovine serum (FBS) or newborn calf serum (NCS)
